The Society is affiliated to SAFHS - the Scottish Association of Family History Societies - and it is a member of AFHS - The Ayrshire Federation of Historical Societies.

We have joined with the three other Family History Societies in Ayrshire - East Ayrshire FHS, Largs & North Ayrshire FHS and Troon @ Ayrshire FHS to form the Ayrshire Council of Family History Societies. Representatives of these four Societies meet twice a year to discuss issues of common interest and, in March, the Societies take it in turns to host a Joint Meeting. Troon FHS is hosting the Joint Meeting in March 2008, and it will be our turn again in 2009.

Other family History Societies' web sites in nearby counties are: Dumfries and Galloway, Glasgow and West Scotland, Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire
